Skip the cottage traffic and spend your long weekend in Vaughan! If you’re planning to head up north on Highway 400 for the long weekend, why not make a pit stop or skip the commute altogether? From fireworks to markets and so much more – there is plenty to do and see right here in Vaughan!

If you’re looking for some new and exciting long weekend plans for your family, we’ve got just the thing for you! Visit for one, two or three days to experience some Vaughan favourites!

Day one – Saturday, May 20

Start your weekend with a visit to the charming Village Market @ Waldorf to enjoy local delicious goodies. Prepare your shopping list and get ready to explore some of Vaughan’s organic farmer and vendor offerings!

When you’re finished at the market, head over to Black Creek Pioneer Village to see it transformed into a fantasyland of magic, wonder and excitement for their Once Upon a Time program.

Then, head for lunch at a nearby restaurant – and don’t forget dessert!

Day two – Sunday, May 21

Immerse yourself in Canadian art and landscape at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection for Free Family Sunday! Visit all day long for drop-in hands-on art workshops, interactive tours and more. Beyond the galleries, you can explore 100 acres of forested land in the Humber River Valley, including trails and outdoor sculptures.

While you’re in the picturesque village of Kleinburg, take time to visit its unique boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

If art and history aren’t your thing, consider a day filled with thrilling attractions and roller-coasters at Canada’s Wonderland, Canada’s largest theme park! You can ride all day, fill up on funnel cake and stay into the evening for a spectacular fireworks display after closing.

Day three – Monday, May 22

Did you know that Vaughan Mills is open 362 days a year? Not only can you shop to your heart’s content on Victoria Day, but your littles can also visit the ultimate indoor LEGO playground at Canada’s only LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, conveniently located inside Vaughan Mills.

Then, get outside and explore the city’s beauty with the Great Walks of Vaughan! Take a restorative walk through Maple Nature Reserve to beat those ‘Sunday scaries’.

Finally, end your long weekend with a bang! Treat yourself to some mouth-watering handmade patisseries at a local bakery. Calories don’t count on the weekend!
