How does the song go? I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Well, this National Ice Cream Day, there’s a ton to scream about. We’re in Step Three of the Roadmap to Reopening, so supporting local businesses has never been easier. And on this particular day, we have some awesome local Vaughan spots to tell you all about!
So where do we recommend you visit today, the greatest day of the year? Check out these three amazing spots that serve ice cream, and have received the Safe Travels Stamp!
CHOCOLATS FAVORIS (Maple, ON)
When we launched our Fav Spot Vaughan campaign this past March, it wasn’t a surprise that Chocolats Favoris in Maple was one of your votes. Their ice cream? Amazing. But walking into Chocolats Favoris is like walking into a dream, because absolutely everything is delicious. They’ve got so many chocolate products – including cakes, milkshakes and Kooky Cookies (yum!) – that you can’t possibly say no.
Using sustainable cocoa, they also have dairy-free and vegan options in both the boutique (gift giving!) and the creamery.
Seriously. YUM.
PRONTO CAFÉ & GELATERIA (Concord, ON)
Family-run business? Check.
Gelato? Check. (And check, because it’s best to be extra sure and we don’t mind going back for seconds!)
Pronto Café & Gelateria is a fan favourite (and a voted Fav Spot of Vaughan, too!) based in Concord. Whether you’re visiting for your daily espresso, or coming for the star gelato, this spot is an absolute must-visit spot in Vaughan. They opened their doors in 2000 and never looked back, which we are immensely grateful for (seriously, the gelato).
ZACK’S CHOCOLATES & FROZEN YOGURT (Thornhill, ON)
Now, if you haven’t heard of Zack’s Chocolates & Frozen Yogurt, you’re missing out! Run by a husband and wife team, Azim and Shaira Wali have been in business for almost 30 years. Not only do they have ice cream, frozen yogurt, milkshakes and delicious chocolate, they also serve kosher options! You can easily get pareve chocolates in a variety of delicious options, supervised under the Kashruth Council of Canada (COR).
But back to the ice cream and frozen yogurt: a must-try, even if it is difficult to choose from their tasty ice cream toppings – chocolate chips and sprinkles and Kit Kat, oh my!
