“We used to have a full house. Covid changed that,” says Hasssan Azouz, partner, Paramount Middle Eastern Kitchen.
The Vaughan restaurant, located at Weston Road and Hwy 7, opened in March 2019, just a year before the first lockdown.
“There wasn’t a lot of Middle Eastern options in the area,” says Azouz. “We wanted to provide an authentic experience nearby.”
And that they have. Serving up traditional Lebanese favourites like hummus and falafel, lentil soup and pita bread fresh from the stone oven, everything is made fresh, and everything is Halal-certified.
Other favourites include the Chicken and Beef Shawarma, Mashrooha and Manakeesh. Portions are large and the selection is plentiful.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a blend of traditional and modern elements, like the signature sapphire blue benches. Azouz wants everyone to feel welcome and invites everyone to visit.
“We want you to feel like you’re coming home.”
