Discover Vaughan
“Are we there yet?” “I’m hungry!” Who hasn’t heard those declarations come from the back seat when you’re travelling with kids. Well, if you’re bringing the kids to Vaughan, maybe to visit family, participate in a sporting event, or go to one of the many summer attractions for children, we’ve got a few suggestions for kid-friendly restaurants to enjoy that will get your trip off to the right start. Looking for a kids’ play area, or maybe just value-priced kids’ meals they won’t turn their noses up at – Vaughan has it.
With over 23,000 square feet of dining, games and entertainment, Gametime Social (2601 Rutherford Rd.) is Vaughan’s home to un-rushed social experiences and fresh-inspired food and drinks. They have endless entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy, such as arcade games, duckpin bowling, billiards and sports games.
Offering dedicated kids’ meals featuring chicken fingers, chicken bites, and mac and cheese wedges that are popular with fussy eaters, WingsUp! (10019 Keele St.) is a great option for kids. Kids’ meals often include kid-friendly sides, and (hold the spice!) the menu offers milder sauce options suitable for younger palates.
Did somebody say, “taco night”? Guac Mexi Grill (20 Jacob Keffer Pkwy.) offers specialized, smaller portions for children. The kids’ menu includes customizable options like burritos, tacos or quesadillas. These meals are easy to eat and often come paired with a drink and cookies.
Farro Ristorante (2316 Major Mackenzie Dr.) is frequently mentioned by locals as a terrific family restaurant. With innovative food in an elegant and friendly atmosphere, Italian restaurants tend to work well with kids because pizza and pasta are easy wins. But Farro also feels more modern and upscale than typical family chains.
Young, happening and sporty, Shoeless Joe’s Vaughan (21 Colossus Dr.) is a high energy sports bar perfect for the whole family. It has a dedicate kids’ menu, so if the kids are into sports, the only thing that can compare to being at the game is watching it at a Shoeless Joe’s restaurant.
Any trip to Vaughan with kids must include Dave and Buster’s (120 Interchange Way). It really is the most fun you can have under one roof! The one and only place you can enjoy great food and drink, play hundreds of awesome arcade games and watch your favorite teams on TV. It’s an epic restaurant, bar and arcade – all in one!
The Centre Street Deli (1136 Centre St.) is a solid, family-friendly, old-school diner with a casual noisy atmosphere where children can be rowdy and still be welcomed. It’s a traditional Jewish deli known for generous portions of Montreal smoked meat, sandwiches and comfort food that appeal to many kids. And they can get fries and hot dogs too!
Described as a cozy, family-friendly treasure trove, Local Café (10489 Islington Ave.) is a good stop for kids. The “mom-and-pop” atmosphere feels like a friend’s home, making it comfortable for families. The menu offers frozen yogurt, creamy affogatos, homemade pasta, premium club sandwiches and wraps, and the best dessert in town.
Steps from Black Creek Pioneer Village, Angelo’s Homestyle Restaurant (3300 Steeles Ave. W.) is a convenient meal destination before or after a day in the Village. It’s an “old-school”, family restaurant that offers a comfortable atmosphere. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, satisfy your hunger with eggs, bacon, pancakes, burgers and finger foods for lunch!
B Boyz – The Burger Architects (200 Whitmore Rd.) has everything your inner child (and your real child) wants to eat. We’re talking about freshly prepared burgers, grilled and fried chicken burgers, cheesy steak sandwiches, wings, tenders, desserts, milkshakes and more! There’s nothing not to love, for adults and picky kids.
