Culture Days is a national celebration of arts, culture, and heritage taking place from September 18 to October 4. As a designated Festival Hub, Vaughan will host more than 50 free and pay-what-you-may events across the city, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with local arts, culture, and heritage while supporting Vaughan’s vibrant creative sector.

Businesses are encouraged to explore the festival, support local creators, and take advantage of the increased community engagement and visitor activity generated throughout the celebration. Through collaboration and participation, Vaughan Culture Days continues to build meaningful connections between the arts, residents, visitors, and the local business community.

You are invited to join Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council for the Vaughan Culture Days Kick-off Celebration on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at City Playhouse Theatre (1000 New Westminster Dr #102, Thornhill, ON L4J 8G3), with the official ceremony beginning at 2:30 p.m.

During the kick-off event, enjoy music and cultural dance performances by local artists, including multicultural acts & performances, and short film movie screening with Vaughan International Film festival. Featured performance: Beauty and the Beast by DuffleBag Theatre.

You can also participate in free arts and culture activities and workshops for all ages, such as bookmark making, earing making, arts & crafts and much more. Accessible parking, pathways & washrooms available at Vaughan City Playhouse Theatre.
