It’s time: The sun is out! The weather is warm! Rather than staying cooped up in the house, gather the whole family and get ready for some fun you’ll never forget. Consider this your handy roadmap to excitement – with ideas that will thrill even your littlest ones. From single-day trips to an entire weekend of fun – Vaughan will keep you entertained.
Find your fun
If you’re looking for something to do that will be fun for the whole family, we’ve got you covered.
Looking to get your thrills in? This summer, you won’t want to miss out on amazing roller coasters at Canada’s Wonderland, Canada’s largest theme park. Or if you’re looking for a different kind of excitement, check out Canada’s largest Nile crocodile at Reptilia (along with so many other cool reptiles!)
Find your creative side at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, which is uniquely devoted to collecting Canadian art. Want something more hands-on? Build whatever your imagination can come up with at Canada’s only LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. You can even see the world’s largest LEGO brick flag!
Get outdoors for some family time at the Kortright Centre for Conservation, or even time travel back to the 1800s at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Both places have fantastic family programming to get everyone excited.
And don’t forget to shop until you drop at Vaughan Mills!
Festival fun for everyone
This summer, Vaughan is the host to so many fantastic festivals and events. From food festivals to music festivals, and everything in between – you’ll find a fun way to spend your day.

Bring the library outdoors
Have you heard of StoryWalk? As you explore the beautiful outdoors, select City trails have large panels showcasing colourful pages of nature-based children’s books. With each step, the story unfolds one page at a time in an immersive and interactive experience. Find the StoryWalk at each of these five trails:
- Lawford Park
- Nort Johnson District Park
- Mackenzie Glen District Park
- Sugarbush Heritage Park
- Marita Payne Park
Learn more about this program, featuring books by a diverse range of Canadian authors, with the Vaughan Public Libraries.
If you’re looking to walk without the story, you can find tons of great options with The Great Walks of Vaughan. From forest strolls at North Maple Regional Park and Maple Nature Reserve to easy neighbourhood walks at Sonoma Heights or Jersey Creek, pick your perfect place to explore.
And last, but not least: find your stay!
A home away from home
We’ll admit it: there’s a fair amount to explore. The best part is that we have so many amazing accommodations in Vaughan, all located a stone’s throw away from some of the best attractions, restaurants, and places to discover. Pick where you want to stay to maximize the fun.
