Girls Just Wanna Have Sun – 2 Day Itinerary

Discover Culinary Delights with the Taste of Vaughan

It’s the weekend you’ve been waiting for – two amazing days with your besties, eating delicious food, soaking up the rays, and exploring a village you didn’t know was right in your own backyard. Just a 15-minute drive from downtown Vaughan, Kleinburg Village is widely celebrated for its charm, and is the focal point of this two-day travel itinerary.

Day One:

Of course, you can’t start the day without a caffeine fix from Canadian-owned Balzac’s Coffee Roasters. Paying homage to the quaint and elegant features of Kleinburg, Balzac’s Coffee Roasters revitalized the Arthur McNeil house – a landmark heritage property – expertly blending charm with modernity, marble fireplace and all. From nitro brew, to swiss water decaf, to a dark affair, grab your favourite cup of java and enjoy some sunny morning bliss on their patio with the ladies.

Next, prepare to be pampered by strolling down the street to Royal Nails. Rest and unwind as the team of Royal Nails treats you and your ladies to services ranging from manicures, pedicures, massages, and much more. Get those toes patio and flip flop ready with a fresh coat of polish!

As the afternoon winds down into the evening, sink your teeth into a delicious steak or seafood dinner at XXI Chophouse. Located in The Doctor’s House, and just a five-minute walk from Royal Nails, XXI Chophouse is situated on a sprawling estate and offers both scenic gardens and a rustic fireplace whose beauty is rivaled only by mouthwatering meals. Don’t worry – there’s a delicious selection of carefully curated wines and spirits to quench your THIRST as well.

Thinking of staying locally? Vaughan has some amazing accommodations to make your girls’ weekend picture perfect. You can check them all out here.

Day Two:

McMichael

Rise and shine ladies! Take your explorations to new grounds by exploring the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Perched at the top of the majestic Humber Valley on 100 acres of beautiful woodland, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection is as scenic outside as it is inside. Explore the works of Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, and many other Aboriginal and contemporary artists, before getting some sun on your shoulders while hiking the gallery’s on-site trails. By then you’ll have earned lunch, and the delicious, locally-sourced meals at the McMichael Cafe are sure to satisfy.

Specializing in delicious favourites such as fudge, candy apples, toffee, and truffles – and let’s not forget the ice cream – the Old Firehouse is a sweet destination for audiences of all ages.
