The courses, of course, are waiting for you!
Copper Creek Golf Club (11191 Highway 27) offers play for all skill levels and is ranked among the top 50 of all golf courses in Canada. It offers world-class dining and an immaculate event venue overlooking a breathtaking view. Now, wrap your head around these breathtaking golf holes. Water is a factor on half a dozen holes, including the 508-yard first hole, where it runs down the left-hand side of a fairway that leads to a green protected in front by a sentry maple tree. The par-three eighth hole is a real beauty, played across water to a multi-tiered green. The back nine begins with the toughest par four. These 459 yards of golfing challenges start from an elevated tee position toward a thin sliver of fairway framed by water to the left and forest to the right. The home hole is the longest par five on the card at 565 yards and is played to a green surrounded by plenty of bunkers. Are you excited to get out there yet?
Eagles Nest Golf Club (10000 Dufferin St.) is a premium, award-winning daily-fee public course renowned for its “faux-links” design. It transforms a former sand and gravel pit into a challenging Scottish-style course that rivals top-tier private clubs in the GTA. The course boasts wild fescue dunes, expansive bunkers and nearly 100 deep sod-wall pot bunkers. There are dramatic elevation changes (especially on the third and 12th holes). You can even see the panoramic downtown Toronto skyline from the front nine. An upscale public course, it also offers a private club, including a world-class grass practice facility consisting of a targeted grass range, a putting green and a chipping green with sand bunkers. And if you want to settle down for a bite after your day, Eagles Nest is home to two highly regarded public dining venues: lago Restaurant, offering gourmet cuisine with stunning course views, and Jim & Garry’s Pub, a more relaxed space for your post-round munchies.
Kirby Links Golf Course (2480 Kirby Rd.) prides itself on being the number one facility in Vaughan for junior golfers to develop their skills. Senior, intermediate and novice golfers will find an excellent short-game course at Kirby Links. The on-site academy is operated by the PGA of Canada professionals and offers junior camps and personalized clinics for those looking to spruce up their game. The course is noted for its serene natural landscape, free from suburban development. The 18-hole executive par-three course features an average hole length of 148 yards, making it an ideal setting to play a full 18 holes in less than three hours! Here, you’ll also find one of the few driving ranges that allows you to practise and hit off real grass year-round. Featuring a 350-yard range, 50 stalls and more than 10 target greens, this driving range is standing by to help you perfect your skills before you head out on the Kirby links.
Uplands Golf & Ski Club (46 Uplands Ave.) is a unique, four-season recreation destination. It is famous for transforming its rolling fairways into a beginner-friendly ski and snowboard hill during the winter while offering an accessible, historic nine-hole golf course in the summer. Designed by Stanley Thompson in 1922, Uplands became a nine-hole gem in 1989, winding through a forested valley of mature trees. This club boasts one of the top 500 golf holes in the world and is known as a thinking golfer’s course that favours accuracy over brute force. It features fun, undulating terrain with striking drops, particularly on the par-three fourth hole and the tricky, dogleg par-four fifth hole. The course is beautifully manicured and well-regarded as highly walkable, offering an easy and enjoyable stroll for players of all ages. When you finish with your three-under-par score, why not head to their on-site restaurant and patio where you can enjoy delicious meals with great views of the golf course.
